Eternal Fire take on Imperial in the lower bracket of EPL Season 19 today

VIDEO: XANTARES plays on teammate's monitor

EPL Season 19's Astralis-Eternal Fire matchup saw a bizarre incident

After Eternal Fire conceded the first map and got off to a shake start on Overpass, XANTARES took matters into his own hands, putting up a 1.52 HLTV rating CT-side to level a 6-6 half and even take a momentary lead at 6-7.

In the 13th round, when Eternal Fire had a marginal lead and were looking to extend it, they found themselves in a 4v3 outside the B-site with an advantage in numbers and firepower but that's when something unfortunate happened. It was seen that XANTARES's game or peripherals had ran into an issue, leaving the Turkish star with no display.

The top-fragger at the time with 12 frags, XANTARES was able to finish the round by looking into a teammate's monitor as a positional reference to navigate the map. XANTARES waltzed into the B-site with a Mac-10 and was picked off by br0's eco pistol. Eternal Fire lost the round, shambling their economy and were able to secure just two rounds thereafter, conceding the map 9-13 and the series 0-2.

The nature of the mishap has not been made public yet but the community stands divided in their suspicions between the mishap being a result of the peripheral (monitor) and it being a result of an incompatible driver or game crash.
