ESL Challenger Melbourne 2024: Everything you need to know
All teams are locked in and the ESL Challenger Melbourne is set to commence tomorrow, 26th April 2024. Eight teams are split into two groups which will go into a GSL group stage, sending the top two from each group to a single-elimination playoffs.
Apeks, MIBR and Rebels have received invites based on their ESL Rankings while Aurora, Party Astronauts and sunday school have booked their slots after clearing the European, North American and Oceanic closed qualifiers. KZG were called in to replace Newhappy as the Chinese team could not get their visas in time. Rooster gets the "local hero" slot.
The tournament carries a massive $100,000 USD prize pool and will also serve as a road to the ESL Pro League. Alongside their cash prize of $50,000 USD, the winners also receive an ESL Pro League Season 20 invite.
