Paris Major 2023 Challengers Stage: Day 3 recap

A quick recap of the Challengers Stage Day 3's action

A couple of favourites headed to the Legends Stage and a surprise elimination took place as well on an action-packed third day of the Challengers Stage at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023.

If you missed the day's action, we've got a quick recap for you.

Legends:
FaZe were the first team to qualify to the Legends Stage as they took down FORZE 2-0 (Overpass 16-12 and Nuke 16-11) to cement their spot in the final 16. FaZe are one of the favourites but they came in as the lowest seeded team and had to grind it out to make it. Once again, as the Major run gets deep, it was rain who stepped up for FaZe.

Apeks were the second team of the day to make it to the Legends Stage and the team with veterans such as jkaem and STYKO took down paiN 2-1 (Ancient 16-11, Vertigo 13-16 and Anubis 16-9) to book a Legends spot in the first ever Major appearance for the organisation.

NiP are headed to the Legends Stage

One of CS:GO's most iconic organisations, the Ninjas in Pyjamas were the final team to qualify for the Legends Stage on Day 3 as NiP took down Grayhound 2-0 (Mirage 16-11 and Inferno 16-12) with headtr1ck having an impactful series.

One final chance:
FORZE went down to FaZe and now face GamerLegion in the 2-2 game on the final day of the Challengers Stage.

siuhy and his men live to fight for another day

paiN's loss to Apeks puts them also in the 2-2 bracket as they take on Monte for a spot in the Legends Stage and Grayhound will face Liquid as the Australian team look to pull off another surprise.

Headed home:
TheMongolz were the first team to head home on Day 3 of the Challengers Stage with Monte taking them down 2-0 (Nuke 16-13 and Anubis 16-12) as the Ukrainian squad kept their Major dreams alive.

GamerLegion stunned OG, who played two extremely poor maps that eventually saw them get eliminated from the Paris Major. GamerLegion won 2-1 (Overpass 16-13, Mirage 9-16 and Ancient 16-7) against OG and now will have one last chance to qualify to the Legends Stage.

Was this OG's final CS:GO tournament?

It was a bittersweet moment for North America as Liquid took down Complexity to stay alive in the tournament but it was at the expense of Complexity who had to head home. It was a clean 2-0 from Liquid (Anubis 16-11 and Overpass 16-3) as NAF and YEKINDAR made sure Liquid have a chance to turn their 0-2 into a 3-2. For JT and his men, this was the end of the road following an inconsistent Challengers Stage.
