Heroic take down FaZe to head to the final four

Heroic became the first team of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 to book their spot in the semi-finals after they took down karrigan and his men 2-1 in the first quarter-final. The series saw the Danes and FaZe both win each other's map picks before the cadiaN and his men hammered FaZe in the series decider.

For FaZe and karrigan's illustrious CS:GO careers, it ends with only one Major trophy, which they won last year in Antwerp. It was a commendable run from FaZe, as they fought back from the Last Chance Qualifiers and make it to the Champions Stage. While they were far from their best, FaZe made sure not to give in easily.

The first map of the Champions Stage was FaZe's pick of Nuke, with Heroic starting on the CT half. FaZe kicked things off by converting a 2v3 at the B site, with Twistzz coming in with an impactful double kill. Conversions against the upgraded pistols and eco from Heroic saw FaZe secure a 3-0 before Heroic put their first round on the board once they got their guns out. FaZe picked up their fourth round. A sjuush triple saw Heroic get the score to 3-5 but more importantly they broke FaZe economy. jabbi's quad kill on the A site saw Heroic tie up the score at 5-5 as the Danes started to eat into FaZe's economy and build their own up, following two clean rounds. Heroic shut down a quick A hit from FaZe on the pistols which saw cadiaN and his men take the lead at 6-5.

Heroic won out the half at 8-5 as they kept FaZe on a leash by breaking their economy every second and the Danes ended the half with a 10-5 lead with stavn and cadiaN cleaning up FaZe in the last round of the first half. The Danes won nine rounds in a row to close out a dominant first half on their opponent's map pick.

stavn got the second half underway with a pistol ace as FaZe fell deeper into the hole dug for them by the Danes. Conversions against FaZe's force buy and eco saw Heroic take a 13-5 lead before picking up the first gun round put the Danes two rounds away from securing the opening map. rain and ropz gave FaZe their sixth on a force buy to break Heroic's thirteen round win streak. A triple from broky as the Latvian decided to take the fight to Heroic saw FaZe put two defensive rounds in a row. broky's 1v1 against sjuush saw FaZe get up to eighth. ropz's triple kill solo B hold saw FaZe secure 11 as it was FaZe's turn to break Heroic's economy.

Heroic picked up match point on the back on an incredible wallbang opener from sjuush. ropz and broky's A hold in round 29 saw FaZe take the map all the way as FaZe clawed back to 14-15. cadiaN and stavn turned around a 2v3 in the final map on Nuke to see Heroic take a 1-0 lead in the series as they picked up Nuke 16-14. stavn ended the first map on top of the scoreboard with 27 kills and a 1.31 rating.

The second map kicked off on Heroic's pick of Overpass as FaZe picked up the pistol starting on the CT half. A karrigan triple saw FaZe take an early 2-0 before Heroic tied things up once they had their guns out. Another karrigan multi-kill saw FaZe get back on the scoreboard and tie up the score at 3-3. FaZe strung three in a row on the back of ropz and Twistzz's multi-kills which saw retake the lead of the map at 5-4. A stavn triple on a low buy from Heroic with just a saved AWP saw Heroic secure their fifth. FaZe responded with a mixed buy of their own to win out the half. Two critical lurks from ropz and rain saw FaZe close out the first half at 10-5.

A Twistzz triple kicked off the second half as FaZe continued to build their lead and it was another triple from the Canadian against the force buy to get FaZe to 12. A sjuush ace kept Heroic in the game as the Danes managed to put a couple of rounds together and get the score at 8-15. Heroic put up seven in a row as TeSeS and sjuush came in with critical multi-kill rounds to keep the Danes in the game. karrigan closed the game as he called a quick B execute on a force buy as Twistzz with his Mac-10 saw FaZe secure the map at 16-12. It was ropz and broky on top of the scoreboard for FaZe after Overpass as the duo ended with 28 and 23 kills respectively and the Estonian rifler ended the second map with a 1.51 rating.

The series decider got underway on Mirage with FaZe starting on the attacking side. A ropz triple saw FaZe secure their first map on Mirage as soon as the guns came out. Strong defensive holds from Heroic saw Heroic run away to an early 7-1 lead with FaZe failing to find footing on their T half. A Twistzz double gave FaZe their second and it was a 1v3 on the B site from Twistzz to give FaZe their third as well. As TeSeS quad kill saw Heroic secure their ninth on the defensive half and break FaZe's economy. The Danes ended the first half with a 12-3 lead.

ropz's triple kill in the second half pistol saw FaZe pick up a much needed pistol and converting the eco and force buy saw FaZe get 5-12. karrigan came in with a ninja defuse in a 2v2 which kept FaZe alive at 6-12. Back-to-back B calls from cadiaN saw Heroic move up tp 14 and also break FaZe economy. TeSeS closed out the map and the series with a 1v1 against karrigan as Heroic secured the map at 16-6. It was cadiaN and stavn on top of the scoresheets for the series with both ending with 61 kills each and a 1.16 and 1.20 rating.
