Mirage is one of the touchstone maps in Counter-Strike 2

New Mirage brings new bugs to Counter-Strike 2

Valve have also completely revamped the loadouts and buy menu

After nearly 7 years of speculation, Valve announced a source 2 port and rebrand for CS:GO on 22nd of March, 2023 and then went radio silent on Counter-Strike 2 for over a month and a half. After a long wait, finally Counter-Strike 2 received it's first major update on 7th of June 2023, featuring a reworked loadout system and the buy menu from Danger Zone was implemented throughout the game but with an added refund feature.

The update also swapped out Dust2 for Mirage, one of the most played maps in CS:GO. While the map looked stunning on the visual front, it came with its fair share of bugs and glitches. Here's a look at what the community has spotted so far.

One of the first bugs came into light in the B-site of mirage. When a player would walk into the corner of bench, the server would get spammed with commands and events to an extent that the whole server would lag until the bench player would walk away from the spot.

When the server lagged out, players in certain positions could momentarily see through walls, giving them vision over enemy territories.

Dust2 came with impossible wallbangs in the limited test and so did Mirage. Players could land shots through thick concrete walls, which did not allow bullets to penetrate in CS:GO. smooya showed some of the wallbangs on a live stream, landing shots from chair in middle, to deep B-short, connector and from connector to A-ramp.

The exploits continued to flow as wallbangs from B-site to deep apartments jungle and market were discovered.

Next in line is austin, an established CS:GO YouTuber known for his short and effective CS:GO tips and tricks videos. austin found a spot in the catwalk-B-short area, that would teleport a player above the skybox, when walked into. Once over the skybox, the player can easily access rooftops across the maps over A-site, Mid and even B-site.

In the first phase of the limited test, the movement felt "floaty" and not concise. Movement has been a vital aspect of CS:GO and is one of the things that raised the skill ceiling of the game. Valve optimized it for the second phase but there is still a bug that lets players slide when they jump and crouch while landing.

In certain areas of the map, players can force themselves under the map/level and it is almost impossible for enemies to spot them but the underground player maintains full weapon accuracy and nearly full vision too.

Even enemies in underpass can be killed from the same spot!

There have been instances where there are bug exploiters on both teams and come face to face at some point. Here's a clip of a player underground, fighting a player walking on the skybox or in other words- 'the sky people fighting the earth people'.

While subsequent updates have fixed some issues, there are still a host of bugs in the map and possibly even more which are yet to be found out!!
