"We knew what they were going to do, almost every round" - gump

Velocity Gaming concede 2-0 series to Revenant Esports

Revenant Esports toppled Velocity Gaming with dominant performances on Mirage and Inferno. Sitting at the middle of the table, Revenant Esports has won 5 out of their 9 games so far, meanwhile Velocity Gaming conceded their 8th loss in the tournament with just a single win under their belt. After the match, we got a chance to talk to gump, from Revenant Esports and here's what he had to say about the match.

Inferno looks like a strong map for you guys, can you talk about that?

"Yeah, we're most comfortable in our roles, everyone understands how the map is supposed to operate, like making sure we put pressure on A before going b and stuff like that, so they're not stacked on B. I think its a map where we have to do the least micro-managing on T side and everyone is kind of really good in filling in like - I'll do this, I'll do this. It just flows really nice."

A dominant CT-side on Mirage, nearly flawless T-side, can you talk about Mirage?

"We knew what they were going to do, almost every round, we knew when they were coming mid and when they were pressuring the extremities. We just had to make sure that the AWP was always in a good spot and we're throwing flashes for each other, because they were just kind of walking out A-main, palace and a guy would go B once the kills started happening. We were in control and aware of that, so we just played our game, it worked out very well."

You were up against a 1-8 team, was there a different game plan coming into this?

"Not really. We need to win every single game from this point onwards, we really want to make the LAN finals and we just approached it like we would approach any undefeated team like when we prepped for Marcos and stuff. We did the same thing, we just made sure we stayed in our routine- all warmed up and ready to hit heads when the game goes live."
