"We just didn't play as a team" - rev3nnnn

Gods Reign concede 2-1 series to 7SEA Esports

Gods Reign conceded a close 2-1 series to 7SEA Esports but are still in a good position on the points table with 7 wins from 10 matches. After the match we got a chance to talk to rev3nnnn, Gods Reign's star AWPer and India's #1 ranked FACEIT player, here's what he had to say.

Looked a little shaky on the first map, can you talk us through Anubis?

"We knew that they'd pick Anubis or Vertigo, having seen our previous matches, so we were prepared for that pick, it could've gone a lot better for us because we threw a lot of 4v2, 3v2 advantage rounds in CT-side. It gave them confidence for the clutches and it ended up costing us the map."

Had a mental reset, closed out Mirage, can you talk about that?

"We gave them a good fight on the CT-side, we finished 11-4. In T-side we choked in our own defaults because of awareness and communication issues. We have to practice Mirage a lot. After 11-4, we had to close it out with a better score but we choked a lot of advantage rounds. In the end a win is a win."

A challenging second half, can you talk about Ancient?

"These maps- Anubis, Overpass etc require a lot of team work. 7SEA (7SEA Esports) are very good as a team, they have their own structure, they have their own defaults, they know what is their own roles on both sides of the map and they don't have any doubts regarding their roles. We as a team, are not that good enough yet. We have some of the best individuals but we're still building the team. We had a 5-1 lead and we lost close rounds which gave them confidence to play aggressive. They have good defaults in Ancient and again we had map awareness and communication issues, we just didn't play as a team."
