Heroic survive Falcons scare

Falcons make Heroic toil but concede Mirage and Nuke 2-0

Falcons started off on the T-side of Mirage, looking as sharp as ever, making the Heroic, the #1 ranked team toil, giving nothing for free. Veteran NBK- and a fairly new face in the tier 1 scene, BOROS absolutely popped off, putting Heroic at an early 2-8 disadvantage. Heroic looked shaky early in the match, with cadiaN missing AWP shots that he would hit 9/10 times and many of Falcons' lurks and timings caught Heroic off guard.

After stealing a deagle round, Heroic found much needed momentum, running off of which they secured a respectable 6-9 half, giving them a fighting chance to turn it around in the second half.

After Falcons secured the second half's pistol round, Heroic converted the anti-eco and put up 3 of their own, closing the gap at 9-10 but Falcons swiftly adjusted to Heroic's pace, locking down 3 more rounds to their name and reinstating their 3 round advantage over Heroic at 13-10. Heroic came alive towards the end, levelling the score at 13-13 and both teams were withing touching distance of closing out Mirage.

TeSeS put up 33 frags on Mirage at a HLTV rating of 1.20

Falcons secured match point at 13-15, but Heroic held their nerve and tied things up at 15-15, forcing the map into overtime. Either teams traded rounds back and forth, pushing it into a second overtime and Heroic closed out Mirage 22-18, without dropping a single round in 2nd overtime. According to HLTV rankings, the 104 ranked team (Falcons) had the world's #1 team (Heroic) on the ropes, in an uncomfortable position for most of the match, showing that they can go up against the very best on their day.

Heroic started off on the T-side of Nuke with a 3-0 lead, but Falcons closed the gap and it was just back and forth trades for the rest of the half. Going neck to neck, Heroic secured an 8-7 half slightly in their favor. With the trio of jabbi, TeSeS and cadiaN looking in good form, Heroic looked good to close out Nuke on their CT-side.

Falcons won the pistol round and the anti-eco to steal the lead at 9-8 but were caught off guard by Heroic's force-buy in round 18, breaking their economy and giving away AKs to the CTs, off the back of which Heroic posted a 5-round streak, inching closer towards closing out the series. In a crucial 13-10 round, Falcons fumbled a positional advantage, conceding the round and breaking their bank, basically confirming Heroic's match point.

BOROS secured 45 frags across the series for Falcons

Falcons managed to keep it close with a force-buy but Heroic reached match point at 15-10 and the climb was too steep as Heroic closed out Nuke 16-10 and the series 2-0, eliminating Falcons. Despite a demotivating start, Heroic stood their ground and closed out the series.
