Wasted Potential edge out ROG Academy in a thriller
The third day of the Group Stages of the CS GO Pro League 2023 got underway with Wasted Potential taking on ROG Academy on Inferno.
Wasted Potential (WP) started off on the CT side but it was ROG who picked up the pistol and kicked off with a 5-0 lead on the T side. A crucial Catasr0phE double in a B retake helped WP get on the board. The teams kept trading rounds at the score got to 8-3 in ROG's favour before WP ended the half with four straight rounds to keep the half at 8-7, with ROG having a one round lead.
An arakyn double saw ROG pick up both pistols on Inferno. After converting against the eco, ROG hit double digits before WP brought out the guns. Nox won out a 1v1 on the A site in a post plant situation to give WP their first T round and WP went on to tie the game at 10-10, taking three rounds in a row, after breaking ROG's economy. WP were looking to run away with the game as their T side went on a roll to take a 13-11 lead but ROG hung on. The teams kept trading rounds before a Nox triple helped WP secure match point on a quick B hit. It was another B hit that saw WP close out the game with vel0city's multi-kill in round 30 turning out to be the deciding factor.
