L.O.T Gaming sweep Wasted Potential
The first semi-final of the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2 saw L.O.T Gaming take on Wasted Potential for a spot in the Grand Finals.
The match started on Mirage with L.O.T Gaming (LOT) getting swept off the board to give Wasted Potential (WP) their first round. tsukizy faced some tech issues which forced LOT to play on with just 4 as their Tech Pause time limit was exhausted. With the permanent man advantage LOT racked up 6 rounds on their T side. As soon as tsukizy stepped back into the server, the team found their groove putting up 3 in a row.
A brilliant clutch from YellowFlash didn't let that start go too far as he pulled one back for Wasted Potential. The half eventually closed out with a 9-6 lead for WP.
LOT's own T side pistol went well setting them up for an equalizer. A few rounds were traded between the two sides, with LOT eventually pulling ahead thanks to SH4DY and m1shu performing well. WD joined them on 20 kills soon enough, but Wasted Potential still had fight left in them, pushing it all the way to 15-14. Alas, they were unable to take it to OT and WP went up 1-0.
LOT got off to a massive 5-0 start on Vertigo and despite a couple rounds from WP, the T side smashed through round after round as SH4DY was once again at the front of the pack with 27 frags in the 11-4 half.
Wasted Potential took 2 off the pistol, but that was followed up by a streak of 5 from LOT to take the series 2-0 and secure a grand finals spot at Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2.
