G2 hang on to take down OG

G2's Royal Arena hopes alive

G2's final CS:GO event was an online one as they took on OG in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2023 Europe quarter-finals in hopes of making it to the Royal Arena later in the year.

OG's pick of Mirage was the series opener with G2 starting on the CT side. It was a stellar half from OG and their IGL, former G2 player, nexa who called a brilliant T side, that gave them a 10-5 lead at the break. G2 picked up the second pistol and it was a stellar T side from G2 as they dropped only one round in the second half and it was m0NESY with a 1v2 on the A site to close the map at 16-11.

G2's pick was Ancient, which was the second map of the series with OG starting on the CT side and it close opening half with G2 taking the lead at 8-7 before switching to the CT side. It was yet another strong T side, this time from OG and with FASHR stepping up, OG won Ancient 16-13.

Inferno was the series decider and it was G2 with a 9-6 lead at the end of the first half, on their T side. It was a dominant CT side from G2 in the second half as they wrapped up Inferno 16-7 with huNter- dropping 27 kills to top the scoreboard.

G2 will now face Cloud9 in the semi-finals on Saturday 7th October, 2023.
