ESL Updates rulebook to adapt to CS2

ESL outlines new penalties and rules ahead of the first CS2 tournament

ESL has recently revised its rulebook to accommodate Counter-Strike 2. These updates include revisions to several rules and the introduction of penalties for rule violations. Notably, amendments to the multiple team rules have been made to facilitate clearer participation for academy teams within the EPT CS ecosystem.

Among other changes including the Pixel Walks living document, which allows players to submit pixel walks for comprehensive evaluation of their competitive legality, they have also eliminated coaching slots within the game, and alternative methods for coaches to contribute to online matches are currently under evaluation. Another notable change has been in the timeout system, allowing teams to call three timeouts consecutively, with a reset during overtime, where each team receives only one timeout.
