G2 finalise IEM Sydney 2023 semi-final spot
G2 took on ENCE in the advancement game as both were looking to book a direct spot to the IEM Sydney 2023 semi-final spot.
G2's pick of Ancient was the opener with G2 starting with the T sided pistol. It was a 4-0 start from G2 before ENCE managed to pull it back to a 7-5 half in G2's favour. While ENCE started the second half strongly to tie up the game early on, it was G2 who managed to close out the game relatively comfortably at 13-9.
G2 suprisingly let Vertigo through in the veto, which ENCE picked up as their map pick. It was an even first half with ENCE taking a 7-5 lead on their T side but G2 were unstoppable on their T half, dropping just one round as they secured the map 13-8 to pick up the series 2-0.
With the win, G2 have booked their spot in the semi-finals and will face the winner of the BetBoom and Complexity game.
