Rise of Legion CS2 Qualifiers Day 1 Recap
The Esports Club's first Counter-Strike 2 tournament, the Rise of Legion Kolkata, got underway with their online qualifiers, as the teams battled it out for a LAN Playoffs spot.
Outlaw vs Fire5 Esports
The first match took us to a matchup between Outlaw and Fire5 Esports. Taking place on Inferno, Fire5 won the first two rounds but then lost the 4 subsequent rounds to give them the initial lead. However, they found their footing back to claim the next 4, retaking lead at 6-4.
They extended 7-5 lead they found in the first half to a flawless run to matchpoint at 12-5. While Outlaw found their first T round in the 18th round, the game ended in the next round with Fire5 Esports winning the map 13-6.
Griffins Esports vs Hari Om Esports
The second match once again unfolded on Ancient with Griffins Esports assuming the CT side against Hari Om Esports. The game started as a neck to neck fair with Hari Om Esports finding the equaliser to an early 3 round lead right away.
As the half came to a close, Hari Om Esports managed to claim 5 rounds on their T side. However once on the CT side, Hari Om Esports staged their comeback, and clinched the game 13-10 on the back off a force buy in the last round.
Team Astra vs Fight for F4ME
The third match took place between Team Astra and Team Fight for F4ME on Mirage. Starting on the CT side, Fight for F4ME overcame an early 0-2 deficit by stringing together 8 rounds in a row.
As the half drew to a close, they mustered another round win to secure a commanding lead of 9-3. The second half saw a lo-sided affair, as Fight 4 F4ME concluded the map with a 13-3 score.
ROG Academy vs Executables
The final game of the day took place on Vertigo, where ROG won with a 13-10 score-line.
