The Story of: KingPins
The tale of these rising talents began in late 2021 when a roster including reV3nnnn, Iconquer, Ph1NNNN, SH4DY, and Benzene, emerged under the banner of Privacy Gaming. At the helm was reV3nnnn, not only a standout player but also burdened by the responsibilities of the team's IGL. However, with timing conflicts, the team had to drop Iconquer, and Benzene introduced the lineup to a budding IGL, Bhavi.
Bhavi's arrival not only injected fresh, competitive energy into the team but also introduced a catalogue of strategies that ELV1S still regards as unmatched in the nation. This change not only elevated the team's tactical prowess but the change relieved reV3nnnn, who could now solely focus on wielding the big green.
Eager for a fresh start, the team sought a new identity, feeling that Privacy Gaming no longer resonated with their aspirations. It was the youthful insight of their new IGL that birthed the moniker KingPins, drawing inspiration from a character in the series Daredevil that he was watching at the time. Yet, in that moment, he couldn't foresee the heights this name would eventually carry these young talents to.
Armed with a new name and revamped lineup, the squad embarked on their quest to dominate the national Counter-Strike scene, quickly making strides within its ranks. At the helm stood Wicked Gaming, a dominant force led by DEFAULTER, Mcg!LLzZz, KiiLSwitCh, Crazy_Gamer, and f1redup. They reigned supreme in the region, but a rising contender emerged in the form of KingPins, challenging Wicked Gaming's supremacy and giving them a run for their money. KingPins celebrated a significant victory in the Revival Series, a triumph that proved their mettle, only to face a devastating setback in the IESF Bali National Qualifier Final.
The defeat hit hard, leading the team to contemplate calling it quits. Bhavi, feeling the weight of disappointment, stepped away from the game for a brief two-month hiatus. It was at this pivotal moment that reV3nnnn's intervention breathed fresh life into the team, reigniting their collective fire and bringing them back together.
With SH4DY unable to devote significant time to the game, CycloneF, previously part of Enormity, joined the roster. Their commitment saw a significant rise with this change, and they ramped up practice sessions, investing double the time they used to give. Their grind in ESEA paid off, as they went as far as the playoffs.
CycloneF's arrival brought much-needed stability to the team's roles. Bhavi shifted to an entry role while Benzene and Ph1nnnn joined the pack. Then at the Taiwan Excellence Cup they secured a resounding victory against their rivals, Wicked Gaming. However, their path to the final hit an unforeseen obstacle in the form of a defeat against Firedup Gaming, and they had to content themselves with a second place finish.
In December 2022, the team geared up for Skyesports 4.0. Just a week prior to the event, they dived into strategizing on the newly introduced map, Anubis, crafting fresh tactics. Their efforts paid off and they overcame over all Indian teams, securing a spot in the finals. However, the LAN final against NKT, a Thai powerhouse featuring BnTeT, got shifted to online, and KingPins got run over in the BO3.
Their journey continued to evolve as they qualified for the WD LAN Black tournament. However, it turned out to be the last tournament of this roster, as tempting offers from organizations started pouring in for the players. reV3nnnn and Ph1nnn departed for Gods Reign, while Bhavi and Elv1s found themselves joining 7sea. Meanwhile, f1redup embarked on a new chapter with Revenant, participating in Skyesports Masters as India's local gaming scene flourished.
Now, after a complete season, the duo of Rev3nnn and Bhavi has reunited, bringing with them a wealth of experience. reV3nnnn stands as a pinnacle in Indian gaming, having achieved one of the highest levels. Bhavi has matured into a capable and adept IGL, while adding ELV1S who has earned recognition as one of the finest support players globally. Accompanying them are Ember and B2, aptly described by reV3nnnnas 'two turrets', capable of individually shifting the game's momentum.
Despite their immense promise, this roster lacks organizational support. With the backing of an organization, the facilities and resources could propel this team of India's top prospects to new heights.
