Twistzz held a 1.10 HLTV rating across the year

Twistzz gets #20 on HLTV's top 20 players for 2023

The Canadian recently parted ways with FaZe

HLTV's top 20 players of the year kicks off with Twistzz being placed at #20. The Canadian makes his way into the top 20 for the third consecutive year and the fifth time in his career, with his first top 20 appearance coming in 2018.

FaZe had a great year and Twistzz played a pivotal role in their success. After winning ESL Pro League Season 17, FaZe secured the Intel Grand Slam and it was Twistzz's second. With a rating of 1.20 across the tournament it was the closest Twistzz came to winning an MVP medal in 2023.

FaZe put up a weak showing at the biggest event of the year - CS:GO's last Major. FaZe made it to the Major through the skin of their teeth in the last chance qualifier but their run was cut in the quarter-finals where they met a well-prepped Heroic. Twistzz was in a form slump at this stage with a HLTV rating of 1.01 in the Major.

Twistzz regained his form at IEM Dallas 2023 but FaZe could only secure a 5-6th place finish. With the release of CS2, things turned around for Twistzz and FaZe, as they got off to a solid start, displaying dominant performances.

Twistzz was awarded the EVP (Exceptionally Valuable Player) accolade at CS2's first big event - IEM Sydney 2023, which FaZe won. Twistzz put up lights out performances against ENCE and MOUZ in the playoffs but his no-show at the grand-finals made way for rain to secure the tournament MVP honors.

Twistzz had to settle for another EVP at ThunderPick World Championship 2023 as his numbers dipped towards the end after putting up great performances in FaZe's initial showings in the event. FaZe was on the high horse with an incredible win streak in CS2 which came to an end after their grand-finals loss to Vitality in the Fall Final. FaZe's 18-match streak ended here and it was Twistzz's last event with FaZe.

Twistzz's 2023 was off and on when it came to individual performances. He would often deliver stunning performances in FaZe's initial phase in most events but would go on to dip towards the end, securing an EVP or sometimes narrowly missing out on the same.

Twistzz made a move from FaZe to Liquid, returning to his former home but this time with cadiaN, the star Danish AWP at the helm of the vessel.
