NODWIN addresses criticism, affirms compliance with norms
Following the allegations challenging NODWIN's administration by Pakistani player HZI, NODWIN has come forward with a response. NODWIN clarified that when the team encountered connectivity issues, match officials granted them an extra 15 minutes to find a solution or reconnect.
Moreover, at the team's request, they agreed to restart a round. These actions were consistent with the pre-set guidelines agreed upon by all participating teams before the tournament.
NODWIN Gaming reaffirmed that both them and BLAST reaffirmed their commitment to advancing esports in the subcontinent, with THE DRAFT serving as a testament to this goal and they place paramount importance on enforcing tournament regulations for every participating team.
“Player Disconnection(s)
Once a round has started, Teams are permitted to request a round restart only prior to the first damage of that round.
Restarts are only permitted for the following reasons:
A Player, or multiple Players have timed out, and disconnected from the match server.
A Player, or multiple Players have timed out, and are motionless in the match server.
A Player, or multiple Players have technical issues, and are motionless in the match server.
Once a round has started, if a Player disconnect occurs after the first damage of a round has been made, the round will continue until completed. If the disconnected Player(s) have not returned when the round has been completed, then the match will be paused at the start of the next round.
If a Player has not returned after five minutes, the affected Team must inform a Substitute to join the match server. After two more minutes, the Organiser will ask the affected Team to use the Substitute Player prepared for the remainder of the match. After this point, the initially affected Player will not be permitted to rejoin the match server until the current half has ended.”
HZI had earlier suffered a power cut during THE DRAFT's Pakistani Open Qualifier, disconnecting them without the usual 10-minute timeout, and impacting their play. Some members rejoining were unable to participate, yet according to them their plea for a round replay was denied.
