CS2 reaches an all-time high player count

According to data from Steam.db, CS2 shattered its all-time high player count record on March 9th, reaching a peak of 1,525,069 players around 07:40 PM. The count surpasses the previous record of 1,347,519 players set in February.

The surge in player numbers can be attributed to the excitement surrounding the upcoming CS2 Major scheduled to take place in Copenhagen.

However, even with the rise in player count, the game still grapples with a prevalent cheating problem and remains a considerable distance away from catching up to CS:GO. The predecessor of CS2 reached 1.5 million players in March last year and then went on to surpass 1.8 million players by May of the same year.
