Indian teams' ESL Challenger Jönköping - Asia Qualifier journey ends in Round 4

Legacy Esports fall in Round 4

A host of Indian teams took part in the ESL Challenger Jönköping - Asia Qualifier as they were looking to make it to the Closed Qualifier. Gods Reign, who were one of the participants, backed out since they are currently travelling to Pune for the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024.

Round 1

2ez Gaming got a bye in the opening game which saw India's number 1 team ease to second round.

Legacy Esports, who recently impressed at the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 India Qualifiers also started with a bye. Like 2ez Gaming and Legacy, Grayfox Esports were also another team with a bye in the opening game. True Rippers, Respect, Zenith and ROG Academy also got byes in the opening round of games.

Revenge Esports faced Yin Xing Gaming in their opening round game. The BO1 action took place Anubis with Yin Xing starting with the opening pistol. Yin Xing went flawless in the opening half and it was a dominating 13-4 to knock Revenge Esports out with the Indian team managing to avoid a whitewash by securing a couple of rounds in the second half.

iYATi were the only other Indian team to not get a bye in their opening game and they went up against Veteran in their BO1 on Inferno. iYATi started with a 9-3 lead and closed things out at 13-4 to move on to the second round.

Round 2

2ez Gaming faced Aketsu in their round 2 game with the action taking place on Ancient. 2ez Gaming started with a 4-8 deficit before going down 9-13 which ended their run in the qualifiers.

Legacy Esports went up against supplylovers on Mirage and started with the opening pistol to move to a 10-0 lead before their opponents managed to put together two consecutive rounds to end the opening half. Legacy kept it clean in the second half to ease to a 13-2.

Respect faced troublemakers on Mirage in the second round game. It was a tough start for Respect after going 4-8 down. Respect turned it around in the second half to take the game to overtime. troublemakers eventually hung on for a 19-15 in second overtime.

ROG Academy, after getting a bye in the opening round faced ROUX from hell in the round 2 game with the action taking place on Ancient. ROG Academy were wiped with a 2-10 score-line in the opening half and ROUX secured the map at 13-5 to knock ROG out of the qualifiers.

In their second round game Grayfox Esports took on PioloNFriends and Marzil and co. kicked things off on Inferno with a 10-2 opening half. It was a comfortable 13-2 which saw them head to the third round.

Zenith, who was another India who got a bye in their opening round, faced Drippy Lab in the second round game which took place on Overpass. Drippy Lab got away to 4-0 lead before the Indian team got on the board. It was a 9-3 half in the favour of Drippy Lab and a flawless second half saw Zenith go down 3-13.

iYATi's second round game pitted them up against Resilience with the action taking place on Anubis. The Indian team started with the early advantage at 8-4. Living up to their name Resilience fought back and took the map to overtime. Resilience eventually turned it around and stole away the match at 16-14.

True Rippers with Crazy_Gamer started their second round game against Aristide Gaming on Vertigo. It was a commanding 9-0 start for DEFAULTER and co. Aristide fought back in the second half but True Rippers managed to hold on for a narrow 13-11 win.

Round 3

Grayfox faced LYG in their third round game with LYG taking a big early lead on Anubis which saw them go 10-2 up. While Grayfox fought back in the second half, it wasn't enough as LYG held on for a 13-7 win

Legacy Esports' third round game took place on Mirage against SR Nacague. It was a tight first half which saw Legacy take a slender 7-5 lead. Like the opening half, the second half was back-and-forth as well but Legacy got through with a 13-10 win.

Anubis was the battleground for True Rippers' third round game against ROUX from hell, who had knocked True Rippers' compatriots, ROG Academy out in the previous round. ROUX started with an 8-4 lead. While the Indian team fought back in the second half, True Rippers eventually fell at 10-13 which ended their campaign.

Round 4

Legacy Esports' round 4 game saw them take on padaemHolodnie on Overpass. Legacy took a two-round to start the map but padaemHolodnie started with the second half pistol and picked up six consecutive rounds. padaemHolodnie eventually denied Legacy to take the game to overtime as they closed out the map at 13-11 to knock out the Indian team.

With Legacy Esports' loss in Round 4, all Indian teams have been eliminated from the ESL Challenger Jönköping - Asia Qualifier.
