Russian viewership propels event popularity

Despite it's early mishaps, the much anticipated Skyesports Championship 2024 delivered on so many fronts, setting up electrifying encounters across the 6-days semi-LAN in Taj lands End, Mumbai. Skyesports' media deals seem to have paid off, bringing in massive Russian viewers, constituting nearly 35% of the event's audience.

The MongolZ were the most followed team throughout the event and understandably so, they were #11 in HLTV's world rankings and the community were eager to see how the Asian team fared off against European teams. Four of the top five most watched games involve The MongolZ and the event's most popular game came in the playoffs where Eternal Fire took on The MongolZ in the semi-final.

Bringing in nearly 794,000 watch hours with an airtime of 48 hours, the event cemented itself as the biggest and most popular Indian Counter-Strike event till date. The MongolZ alone drew in over 300,000 watch hours, nearly 40% of the total. The event peaked at 47,676 viewers with Russian streams drawing majority of the viewers on Twitch.
