Skyesports reveals 2025 CS2 roadmap

A prize pool of $1.75 million

Skyesports have revealed their Counter-Strike 2 plans for 2025, announcing four events, with a combined prize pool of $1.75 million. Out of the four events, three of them are billed as Tier 1 while one is Tier 2.

Skyesports has revealed that all the four events will be LAN events held in India although the venues for the events haven't been revealed yet.

The four events, which are part of Skyesports' CS2 2025 roadmap are as follows:

Tier 1

  • Skyesports Masters 2025 - May 26 - June 1, 2025

  • Skyesports Championship 2025 - September 15 - September 21, 2025

  • Skyesports World Tour - November 10 - November 16, 2025

Tier 2

  • Skyesports Souvenir 2025 - February 17 - February 23, 2025

Skyesports have also revealed that all three of their Tier 1 events will have Open Qualifiers for India, Europe, Americas and the Rest of Asia.

Skyesports Souvenir 2025 - Details

The Skyesports Souvenir, which will kick off the Skyesports 2025 calendar will have a total of 12 teams and will have a Closed Qualifier (January 20 - January 26, 2025), which will be played online. The 12 invited teams will be based on the Valve rankings, from rank 9 onwards with the top four teams moving directly to the main event.

The rest of the eight teams will battle it out for the four remaining slots in the Main Event, through the Closed Qualifier, which will be an online event held on an EU server.

The Closed Qualifier will have eight teams put into two groups of four and will fight it out in a GSL-style format with the top 2 teams from each moving to the Main event.

The Main event will have 4 of the directly invited teams and 4 from the Closed Qualifiers. The main event will follow a double-elimination bracket.

Prize pool for the event is set at $250,000 which will be divided in the following manner

  • 1st Place - $100k

  • 2nd Place - $50k

  • 3rd Place - $35k

  • 4th Place - $25k

  • 5th - 6th Place - $12.5k each

  • 7th - 8th Place - $7.5k each

Skyesports Masters, Skyesports Championship and Skyesports Global Tour - Details

Tier 1 events ( Skyesports Masters 2025, Skyesports Championship 2025 and Skyesports World Tour 2025)

Format:

Open Qualifiers (online)

  • Open to 256 teams in a single-elimination bracket

  • BO3 matches from RO16

  • Winner of regional Open Qualifiers (4 regional qualifiers) move to the Closed Qualifier as bottom seed

Closed Qualifier (online)

  • 16 teams (Valve ranks 1 - 16) will be invited with the top 4 ranked teams moving directly to the Main Event

  • Rest of the 12 teams, along with the 4 from Open qualifiers will battle it out in the Closed Qualifier. The 16 teams will be in two groups of 8 and will fight it out in a double elimination bracket (BO3) with their VRS rankings deciding their seedings.

Schedule for Closed Qualifiers

  • Skyesports Masters 2025 Closed Qualifier schedule - April 14 - April 20, 2025

  • Skyesports Championship 2025 Closed Qualifier - August 11 - August 17, 2025

  • Skyesports World Tour 2025 Closed Qualifier - October 13 - October 19, 2025

Tournament Formats:
The format for the three Tier 1 main events will be as follows:

  • Four teams from Closed Qualifiers will join four directly invited teams in a LAN event. The LAN event will have two stages - League Stage and Playoffs

  • League Stage will have 8 teams who will battle it out in single round-robin format (BO3)

  • Playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket. Semi-finals would be BO3 while Grand Final will be BO5

Prize Pool breakdown
The prize pool split for the three Tier 1 events will be $500,000 for each event and will be divided in the following manner:

  • 1st Place - $200k

  • 2nd Place $100k

  • 3rd - 4th Place - $60k each

  • 5th - 8th Place - $20k each
