Rare Atom to miss IEM Rio

ESL took to X to announce that Rare Atom will miss out on the upcoming IEM Rio 2024 as the team will not fly to Brazil due to visa issues. A last minute invite was sent out to Imperial and the Brazilian team is set to fill the vacancy left by Rare Atom's absence.

The tournament begins in a week from now (7th October 2024) and the Asian team takes a bitter blow as they miss out on crucial international exposure before their Asia RMR outing in November. Rare Atom cleared the open qualifiers in the Asian region and took down TYLOO 2-1 in the closed qualifier's final to book their IEM Rio spot.

Imperial will take Rare Atom's place in group A alongside NAVI, Liquid, Complexity, FaZe, FURIA, MOUZ and paIN. Their campaign starts with a bo1 against NAVI on 7th October 2024. With Imperial's addition, there now three Brazilian teams at IEM Rio 2024.
