The MongolZ make Playoffs in Cluj-Napoca
The MongolZ continued their unbeaten run at the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 as they moved into the Playoffs following 2-1 win, this time over Brazilian squad paiN in the Swiss Round 3 encounter.
bLitz and Techno powered The MongolZ to an 8-4 start on their own pick of Inferno on the CT half after a trade of rounds in the initial couple of rounds. paiN fought back with the second pistol and nqz and dav1deuS helped paiN take Inferno to overtime. 910's AWP though, took charge in overtime as The MongolZ finally managed to close out their pick at 16-13.
Dust2 started with Senzu and 910's double AWP defensive hold helping The MongolZ take a slight lead at the end of their opening half before nqz found impact for the Brazilians to one round game at 10-11. bLitz and mzinho's double opener on the A site put The MongolZ on map and match point but paiN hung on once again to take the game to overtime. A sloppy affair in overtime saw The MongolZ drop their first map in Cluj-Napoca, going down 14-16 in overtime.
Mirage started with the Brazilians taking the lead this time, a four round lead on their CT side before a much needed second pistol on Mirage thanks to Techno holding on in a 1v1 against snow saw The MongolZ fight back on their CT side as they tied up the score in no time. mzinho and Senzu retaking in a 2v3 saw The MongolZ take the lead of the map. It was a clean finish from bLitz and his boys as they closed out Mirage at 13-8 to lock in a 2-1 series win and move into the Playoffs.
