Grayhound kicked off their campaign with a win

Grayhound takes down EG Black

EG Black fail to make the comeback count

Evil Geniuses Black (EG Black) faced home-team Grayhound in their opening game with the North American team recently announcing the return of HexT to the team. The best-of-one kicked off on Inferno with Grayhound starting on T-side.

A scrappy pistol saw EG take the first round but Grayhound converted the force-buy and buyoed by the crowd and a strong half from INS and Vexite, both of whom were clinical with their openings, Grayhound ended the first half with a 11-4 lead.

EG took home the second pistol, which was much needed for them to stay alive in the game. EG though botched it against the force from Grayhound but managed to break Grayhound's economy with a low-buy rush on the B site, which set EG up for a strong comeback. EG did manage to get it to 10-13 but it was Alastair who came in with an important 1v1 clutch on the B site, which brought Grayhound back in the game. The home team eventually wrapped up the map 16-10, much to the delight of the crowd in Melbourne.
