zevy's AWP led paiN to a close win over BIG

paiN pull off incredible comeback at the Brazy Party

paiN Gaming secured a hard-fought victory over BIG in a thrilling best-of-three series at the Brazy Party, with zevy's big green proving to be a key factor in their triumph.

In a thrilling match at the Brazy Party, BIG and paiN Gaming faced off in a gripping best-of-three series. The two teams battled it out on three different maps, each with unique twists and turns. From BIG's dominant start on Mirage to paiN's incredible comeback on Nuke and their ultimate victory on Vertigo, this match was a true showcase of what both teams had to offer.

BIG started the series off with their pick of Mirage. The first 5 rounds following the pistol came easily to BIG as Karim “Krimbo” Moussa led the attack with 11 kills. An Impact round from Romeu "zevy" Rocco’s AWP netted paiN two, but hyped brought out his big green to keep the T side going. Still with just 5 rounds in the half, the game looked tough for paiN. And BIG took the pistol win to quickly close the map out 16-5.

The action-packed match continued as they moved onto the map Nuke. BIG wasted no time in showing their strength as tabseN and prosus spearheaded their attack, resulting in a commanding 9-1 lead with an unbreakable defense. Despite paiN's attempts to answer back, they could only pick up a couple of rounds, leaving them with a daunting 11-4 scoreline. The second half saw the Brazilians start off strong with a pistol round win and zevy's AWP finding key openings outside, leading to paiN racking up an impressive 7 rounds in a row to tie the game up.

BIG Academy stand-in prosus showed his skills on Vertigo

However, BIG found their answer to paiN's defense when they lost their lead at 11-12, with tabseN leading the charge with over 30 kills. BIG secured match point, but unfortunately, their IGL couldn't clutch the map win in a 1v1 as skullz defused to take paiN to overtime. Although BIG hit match-point first, paiN once again pushed it into a second overtime. zevy's AWP rang off again and again, as the Brazilian put up an impressive 42 kills total to steal away the map and take the series to a third game.

The game on Vertigo proved to be another nail-biter. BIG started strong with a pistol round conversion, but paiN quickly answered back, keeping the game even in the first half. Despite academy stand-in prosus performing admirably for BIG, he was evenly matched by paiN's NEKIZ. BIG managed to take a minor lead in the half with a 9-6 score, but it was paiN's turn to shine with a massive CT side defense.

The Brazilians started off with five rounds in a row off the pistol and continued to dominate as BIG failed to put two rounds together, quickly falling behind with a 14-9 scoreline. zevy, biguzera, and NEKIZ were all performing exceptionally well, while the German star trio of tabseN, Krimbo, and hyped went relatively quiet. More AWP magic from zevy including a stunning 3k with a noscope, put paiN on match point, and hardzao put in the final bullets to secure the series for paiN Gaming, sending BIG packing from the Brazy Party.

paiN now move on to face the loser of 00Nation and Into the Breach while BIG are sent home to regroup after another disappointing loss following the RMR elimination.
