The Ninjas perform a tremendous comeback
The Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) turned around a 4-11 deficit on Mirage to take down OG 19-17 in overtime in their 1-1 game at the BLAT.tv Paris Major 2023 Challengers Stage. NiP now move into the 2-1 bracket and are a win away from moving into the Legends Stage.
It was NiP on the CT half who got the game underway with NiP taking the pistol. NiP were 2-0 up before degster came in with a 1v1 clutch against Brollan to give OG their first round. degster's clutch saw OG go on a five round win streak before NiP posted their third defensive round. The Ninjas though had no answer the OG's firepower and OG took at 10-5 lead at the break as niko and F1KU turned around a 2v4 in the final round of the first half.
The Ninjas started the second half with the pistol round win and converted the force-buy and following eco round to reduce OG's lead to four rounds. A couple of impactful rounds from headtr1ck including a 1v1 clutch on the B site saw NiP tie things up at 11-11 taking seven rounds in a row. A strong hold from F1KU on the B site saw OG put their first defensive round on the board. F1KU denied headtr1ck a 1v2 on the B site to put OG on 14 and break NiP economy but on the low-buy NiP turned it around and broke OG's economy. k0nfig's quad kill in the middle tied up the game at 14-14. It was F1KU once again with a multi-kill which put OG on match point but NiP managed to take the game to overtime after a brutal A execute in the final round of regulation.
OG managed two rounds in the first half of overtime but a 2v3 from headtr1ck and Aleksib saw NiP make sure that they don't give OG a spotless CT half. Aleksib came in with a ninja defuse to kick things off on the second half of OT 1. It was NiP who got match point first and a triple kill from REZ saw NiP stick the comeback and win it in overtime at 19-17. REZ and flameZ both ended with 30 kills but REZ ended up on the winning side with a rating of 1.35.
