Liquid complete Legends stage run
Team Liquid completes the run from 0-2 to 3-2 to qualify for the BLAST.TV Major Paris Legends stage. They will face off against 9INE to start their Legends campaign on a better foot.
On the first map, Anubis, Liquid started strong on the T side, winning the pistol round and converting it into a 3-0 lead. Grayhound managed to answer back and repelled a B hit, thanks to a 2k from Sico. However, Liquid maintained their momentum and secured rounds with effective plays. Grayhound had opportunities to secure rounds but squandered advantageous situations, allowing Liquid's stars to shine. Despite Grayhound's efforts, Liquid dominated the first half with an 11-4 scoreline.
Grayhound showed resilience at the start of the second half, winning the pistol round and converting it into a few rounds. However, Liquid maintained control and prevented Grayhound from mounting a comeback. Liquid's stars, including oSee, YEKINDAR, and NAF, came up clutch in crucial moments, securing the map victory with a final score of 16-9.
Moving on to Inferno, Grayhound had a rough start, losing the T pistol round. They managed to bounce back in the following rounds and tied up the score. Grayhound displayed aggression and executed strategies, but Liquid's defence proved strong, especially with standout performances from players like nitr0. Grayhound struggled to find success on the A site and faced economic difficulties. Liquid capitalized on Grayhound's shortcomings and took a dominant 12-3 lead into the second half.
Grayhound won the CT pistol round, but Liquid quickly responded in the following round. Grayhound tried to mount a comeback but struggled to hold off Liquid's relentless attacks. Liquid showcased their dominance and secured a match point. Although Grayhound managed to gather a few more rounds, Liquid closed the match with a 16-9 victory on Inferno, earning their qualification for the legends stage.
Overall, Liquid displayed its strength and outperformed Grayhound throughout both maps. Grayhound had their moments but faltered in crucial situations, ultimately falling short against the North American powerhouse.
