Vitality go 3-0 in the Legends Stage

Vitality have confirmed their spot in the Paris Major 2023 Champions Stage after going 3-0 in the Legends Stage following a win against Monte in their best-of-three 2-0 bracket game. Vitality took down Monte in straight maps as they did not drop a single map in the Legends Stage. Vitality ran through Monte in the opening map but the Ukrainians fought back valiantly on Nuke but in the end, Vitality were just too strong for Monte.

The best-of-three qualification match kicked off on Monte's pick of Anubis with apEX and his men starting on the CT side. It was a clinical B site execute to kick things off from Monte as the Ukrainian team took the opening pistol of the series. DemQQ helped Monte go 2-0 after clutching out a 1v2 to cancel out the force buy. Monte picked up the first gun round to go 4-0 up before Vitality got their first round with nothing but deagles. A strong defence from Vitality, with ZywOo leading from the front saw Vitality end the first half with a 8-7 lead as sdy came in with an important 1v1 clutch against Magisk.

A Spinx triple saw Vitality take the second pistol before increasing their lead to four rounds. Monte got their first CT round on the board thanks to BOROS and KRaSnaL turning around a 2v4. BOROS and DemQQ's stellar A site hold gave Monte their ninth but a dominant team display from Vitality saw them close the map at 16-10 as Magisk ended the opening map with a 1v4. It was Magisk and ZywOo on top of the scoreboard with 24 and 20 kills respectively.

The second map was Vitality's pick of Nuke with the Ukrainian team starting on the CT side but it was Vitality who won the first round. Monte got themselves on the board in the fourth round, which was the first gun round of the game, with the Ukrainians coming in with a clean defensive hold. Monte secured their second round on the back on a low buy as BOROS and DemQQ stepped up with crucial kills but Vitality bounced back with a force buy to secure their fifth. A ZywOo triple kill saw Vitality win out the first half, securing their eighth round and Vitality ended the first half with a 10-5 lead on the back of quad kill from Magisk in the final round of the first half.

Vitality won the second pistol as dupreeh came in with a triple kill to increase Vitality's lead to six rounds. A couple of crucial rounds from BOROS and kRaSnaL say Monte secure their tenth, to close the gap to Vitality. A couple of multi-kill rounds from BOROS saw Monte cut Vitality's lead to a single round at 13-14 but a double kill hold from dupreeh on the A site saw Vitality secure match point. It was dupreeh again and this time with a triple kill to secure the map and match for Vitality at 16-13.

Unsurprisingly it was ZywOo on top of the scoreboard as the French AWP-er ended the series with 44 kills and a 1.30 rating
