G2 eliminate FURIA from BLAST.tv Major Paris
FURIA's disastrous run at the BLAST.TV Major Paris has resulted in their elimination from the event in 15th-16th place. The team came in with a supposed new style of play, but the changes have backfired completely as the team managed to only get 8 Terrorist side rounds, across the entire Legends stage, with all 8 of them coming in the two maps they played today.
The game started on Inferno with FURIA picking up the pistol round but being absolutely annihilated in the following rounds as G2 picked up 9 in a row and 11 in the half as the Kovač cousins dominated. The second half saw FURIA get their first T-sided rounds of the entire event, but G2 closed it out at 16-8.
Moving to Mirage, the story was the same despite the flipped sides. After FURIA got 4 rounds on the trot to start the half, G2 took 10 in a row to close the half with another 11-4. And with all 4 of the stars performing, while KSCERATO went completely missing, seemingly for the first time this year, the international squad secured the easy victory and took the series 2-0.
This major has been an absolute disappointment for the Brazilian squad, and they will need to go home and re-evaluate their entire roster if they want to stay competitive at the Tier 1 scene. arT's name will be one that will be brought up regularly as the T-side disaster can only be blamed on the team's leadership. Meanwhile, G2 will continue to fight through Paris to hopefully reach the playoffs of NiKo's last shot at a major in CSGO.
