Vitality end Into The Breach's cinderella run
One of the most lopsided matchups in Major playoffs history as Britain’s finest, Into The Breach (ITB), went up against the World Number 1, Team Vitality. ITB had massive upsets, defeating FaZe, ENCE and fnatic to qualify for the playoffs. With CYPHER and CRUC1AL popping off, the team regularly outperformed their opponents.
But Vitality is ranked #1 for a reason. Not only is ZywOo almost inarguably the best player in the world this year, but Spinx has also stepped into his own again. With that 1-2 punch combo and the biggest veterans in the scene to follow, Vitality had everything going for them heading into the Accor Arena. And that is without even mentioning the thousands of fans cheering for their hometown heroes.
The game started with apEX’s squad starting on the CT side, securing the pistol round conversion, but ITB brought out AKs to pick up 2 of their own. Despite having just 10 hp, CYPHER favoured his deagle to find the opening to get 4, and the entry-fragger didn’t stop. The half relied on his entries as he put up 17 frags, outperforming even ZywOo. Impact frags from CRUC1AL and Rallen helped get ITB to 8, and the final round was another beautiful 4K from CYPHER that gave the lads a 9-6 lead in the half.

In a 2v3 turned 1v2, CYPHER used his Dualies to complete the retake and take away the pistol round. In the gun rounds, though, Vitality’s attack rolled through the defence, with Spinx and Magisk joining the French duo to pull away to match point, stealing ITB’s pick, despite CYPHER being the best performer in the match.
ZywOo started off proceedings on Anubis with a kill on CRUC1AL, but it was Magisk to put up 4 and won a 1v1 to get the pistol. The Dane took another 3 kills to set Vitality up for a 2nd, but apEX’s bullets missed as Rallen got a smoke defuse. ITB continued to stave off the T side, as their aggressive CT setups got them to 5 on the CT. But Magisk’s performance kept up to tie the game up and extend it into a Vitality lead of 9-5. Finally, volt’s triple gave ITB a final round to close the half.
Yet another pistol-round win went the way of the UK squad, allowing them to tie the game up at 9-9. A bizarre round where Magisk used the AWP and ZywOo got an M4 quad-kill gave Vitality a 12-10 lead. CYPHER chose the perfect time to wake back up putting 3 kills on the board, propelling ITB right back into the game at 14-12. Vitality’s economy was on the line, but the squad stepped up to put match-point on the board. And they closed the series out at 16-12 to secure semi-finals.

ZywOo ended the series as the highest-rated player, with Magisk following closely behind him on the scoreboard. The team will now face off against the winner of Liquid vs Apeks in the semi-finals of the last CS:GO Major.
