GamerLegion to make their first ever appearance at a Major Grand Finals

GamerLegion pull off a massive upset

GamerLegion put an end to Heroic's dominant run, securing their first ever Major Grand Final

GamerLegion displayed brilliant reads and coordination on Inferno and Mirage despite the individual caliber from the Heroic camp, eliminating them from the Major in the semi-finals after close 13-6, 14-6 finishes on Ancient and Inferno and a dominant 16-6 win on Mirage, taking the series 2-1.

stavn finished Ancient with a HLTV rating of 1.46 and 100+ ADR

The trio of isak, acoR and iM propelled GamerLegion to great 1st half on the T-side of Ancient after Heroic secured the opening 3 rounds, putting up a 6-round win streak and winning out the half 10-5, well on their way to close out Ancient. stavn and jabbi stole the show in the 2nd half off the back of cadiaN's calling, as they strung up 7 rounds in a row for Heroic, flying off to a great start on their T-side, taking a round lead at 12-10 and soon after, securing match point, after dropping just a single round in the 2nd half.

GamerLegion found no answers as, Heroic closed out Ancient 16-13. Both sides put up great T-sides with isak, acoR and iM finishing with HLTV ratings of 1.29, 1.15 and 1.09 for GamerLegion and stavn racked up 24 frags at an ADR of 105 with a HLTV rating of 1.46 followed closely by jabbi with 20 frags and a HLTV rating of 1.12.

Going 1 up into Heroic's map pick, Inferno, Heroic once again started strong with 4 -0 but that was almost all that they could salvage on their T-side, as acoR and iM came online for GamerLegion, locking Heroic out of the first half and closing out a 6-9 CT-side on Inferno. Heroic again, strung up rounds to immediately take back the lead on the CT-side but this time however, GamerLegion recovered and outplayed Heroic, securing match point at 15-12.

With 3 chances to close out the map, GamerLegion looked settled but it was cadiaN and stavn who anchored themselves to the A-site, to keep GamerLegion on their toes but ultimately went on to concede Inferno with a very close 14-16

iM tore through Heroic's defense on Mirage

Mirage was an entirely different story where Heroic looked completely out of place as iM put up a massive ADR of 130, with 24 frags and a HLTV rating of 1.87. Heroic were completely disintegrated, as once again every move of theirs had a number in GamerLegion's strat book. cadiaN led from the front with 17 frags, fighting with all his might but sjuush and stavn were completely absent on Mirage. GamerLegion put Heroic at a 10-5 disadvantage in the first half and Heroic did not have anything to show on Mirage, as GamerLegion closed out the map 16-6 and the series with it.

GamerLegion took the series with a 2-1, as iM racked up a whopping 73 frags with a HLTV rating of 1.40 throughout the series. cadiaN and stavn held a HLTV rating of 1.14 and 1.12 in the series for Heroic. cadiaN received a teary farewell and a standing ovation from the crowd, as another legend ends CS:GO without a Major to his name.

"First and foremost, thank you everyone in Paris for showing up. For me, like I said in the speech, it started more than 10 years ago, bringing my own PC to Sweden... what can I say? Counter-Strike has changed my life, I wouldn't be the person I am without it."
Casper 'cadiaN' Møller, Captain, Heroic.

Siuhy and squad deserve greatness. Defeating one of the tournament favorites and going to finals as an underdog is always enjoyable to watch. Unfortunately it was the end for their run but they have proved that CS is in good hands!!
