Cloud9 stay alive in IEM Dallas 2023
After map picks exchanged, Cloud9 put up a dominant win on Overpass to keep their hopes alive. Cloud9 conceded Ancient 13-16, but won out Inferno and Overpass 16-12 and 16-2, to send Complexity packing.
Complexity started with a three round streak on Inferno but Cloud9 pulled it back and traded rounds for the rest of the half, ending it at an evenly poised 8-7. Complexity even took the pistol and converted the next, but Ax1Le, HObbit and sh1ro tore through Complexity's defense, as they strung up important rounds and closed out the match with a 12-16 score line.
Going into Ancient, Cloud9 put Complexity at an early 3-7 disadvantage but Complexity recovered and again closed out a 7-8 half, as Sonic and Grim stepped up. Winning rounds became scarce for Cloud9 on their CT-side as Complexity displayed constant aggression across the map, with Sonic and Grim carrying over their form the 1st half, as Complexity closed out the match 16-13 with Sonic putting a stellar AWP performance, dropping 32 frags on Inferno, to tie up the series 1-1.
The decider was on Overpass and it had Cloud9 run away with an early 9-0 start on their CT-side, as no one turned up for Complexity. floppy nearly went 10 rounds without a single frag to his name. Each and every individual from Cloud9 put up impact frags, closing out a nearly flawless CT half, 13-2. Things didn't change for Complexity in the 2nd half, as Cloud9 ran through the defense, secured their match point and immediately converted.
Everyone from Cloud9 had a HLTV rating in excess of 1.36, with Ax1Le topping the server at 22 frags, 122 ADR and a whopping 1.82 HLTV rating.
Ax1Le dropped 63 frags across the series, closely followed by HObbit at 58 and sh1ro at 54, as Cloud9 overcome Complexity, ending their IEM Dallas 2023 run.
