Retaliation wins Skyesports Masters Bengaluru cafe qualifiers

A low turnout cafe qualifier in Bengaluru saw Retaliation and Legacy Esports directly faceoff in a Bo3 finals, being the only 2 teams that showed up for the qualifiers from the region. The maps in play were Overpass, Ancient and Inferno (The decider, if needed).

Overpass saw Legacy Esports starting on the T-side, winning the pistol and converting the semi-buy but what followed was a solid CT-defense from the side of Retaliation as Legacy Esports were only able to secure 3 more rounds in the half, ending it 10-5 in favor of Retaliation. Legacy Esports' CT-side could do very little to contain Retaliation as they went on to close the map 16-6, dropping just a single round on their T-side, going 1-0 up in the series.

Going into Ancient, Legacy Esports needed a full reverse sweep to emerge victorious but starting on the T-side, Retaliation carried over their aggression from Overpass and fired on all cylinders. Things looked grim for Legacy Esports, as Retaliation went up 11-0 on their T-side in no time, a disadvantage from which Legacy Esports just could not recover. They somewhat put up a fight towards the end of the half, stringing up 4 rounds but it was too little, too late as the half ended 11-4, in favor of Retaliation.

Switching over, Retaliation started off their CT-side with 3 in a row and it was Legacy Esports' turn to retaliate, stringing up 4 of their own but unfortunately that was all they could secure, as Retaliation locked in their defense and closed out the map 16-8 and winning the series 2-0.

Retaliation will now compete in the 2nd phase, which will be an online qualifier where they will go up against cafe qualifiers winners from other regions. The qualifiers aim to shine light on unnoticed talent, giving them an opportunity to get signed by a franchised team.
