Marcos Gaming take down 7Sea Esports to win TEC Arena Connect

Marcos Gaming reign supreme in Pune

Marcos Gaming took down 7Sea Esports in the Grand Finals of the TEC Arena Connect, Pune event, to take home the championship after an evenly fought final. It was a 2-1 win for Marcos Gaming, with the roster winning their debut LAN event together.

The first map of the Grand Finals was on Marcos Gaming's pick of Inferno with Marcos Gaming starting on the T side. DiceDealer's triple with the dualies saw 7Sea Esports pick up the first pistol but Gh0sTTTT's double opener on banana helped Marcos pick up the force buy and then took three in a row before both teams had all the guns out. A quad kill from Gh0sTTTT saw Marcos pick up the first gun round as they went 4-1 up. Bhavi's 1v1 against Rider put an end to Marcos' seven-round streak as 7Sea put up their second and it was the captain of 7Sea who stepped up once again with a double to give his team the third in round 11.

Zerocool and Rider turned around a 2v4 which helped Marcos pick up their ninth and DEFAULTER's double against the pistols saw Marcos secure their tenth on their T side and they ended the first half with a 11-4 lead.

Marcos Gaming shut down 7Sea Esports' B execute on the pistol to kick the second half off and Rider and Zerocool's double A hold saw Marcos secure their 13th. ELV1S' triple saw 7Sea put up their first T round and that one round became three as they slightly pulled the game back at 7-13. DEFAULTER's triple along with a Rider 1v1 against Bhavi helped Marcos get right back into it as they put up their 14th. Rider came in with another crucial clutch, denying ELV1S a 1v3 to help Marcos secure map point. Marcos closed out the map at 16-9 as Gh0sTTTT was the star for Marcos with 25 kills as DEFAULTER and Zerocool ended with 22 and 21 kills respectively.

The second map was 7Sea Esports' pick of Nuke as it was Marcos Gaming starting on the CT side. A triple from 7Sea's captain, Bhavi, gave them the first pistol and they went 3-0 up in no time before the gun came out on both sides. DEFAULTER's triple helped Marcos put up their first round but 7Sea bounced back and a DiceDealer triple saw 7Sea secure their fifth. Zerocool came in with a crucial triple kill to help Marcos take their second round and a Rider quad kill in hell saw Marcos put up four.

A quad from DEFAULTER saw Marcos bring it to a one-round game and the game was eventually tied at 6-6 after Marcos shut down a B rush on the pistols from 7Sea. After five consecutive rounds, 7Sea finally put an end to the Marcos streak as they put up their seventh. Mcg1LLzZz's triple saw Marcos tie the game at 7-7 and Marcos ended the first half with a 8-7 lead.

Mcg1LLzZz and Zerocool's ramp openers helped Marcos pick up the second pistol of the map and they were 10-7 up after converting against the pistols. 7Sea were right back on it as soon as they got the guns out with CycloneF's double helping them put up their eighth. 7Sea tied up the game at 10-10 off the back of another multi-kill round from CycloneF. Marcos put a couple of rounds together to take the lead at 13-11 but 7Sea answered back to tie the game at 13-13. A CycloneF double saw 7Sea put up 14 and Benzene's triple put 7Sea on map point and Bhavi and his boys picked up their map pick 16-13 with CycloneF and DiceDealer on top of the scoreboard with 31 and 29 kills respectively.

The series and championship decider was on Ancient with 7Sea starting on the T side. It was a triple from Mcg1LLzZz that helped Marcos pick up the first pistol on the final map. The conversions against the eco and force buys helped Marcos go 3-0 up before 7Sea won the first gun round to pick up their first round. Three on the trot from 7Sea helped them tie the game before taking the lead of the map at 4-3. DiceDealer's 1v1 on the A site against Rider gave 7Sea their sixth and after six rounds on the trot Marcos responded with two of their own to bring the game to a one-round game at 5-6. Marcos tied the game back at 6-6 and Marcos ended the first half with a 9-6 lead thanks to Zerocool triple.

Marcos Gaming took the second pistol and the following to go 11-6 up before it was 7Sea winning the first gun round once again. CycloneF's double gave 7Sea their eighth and after converting against Marcos' eco, they were two rounds away from equaling the score. It was another multi-kill from CycloneF that saw 7Sea Esports tie the game at 11-11. Back-to-back multi-kill rounds from Zerocool saw Marcos go 14-11 up.

A jubilant Marcos Gaming

Bhavi's 1v2 saw 7Sea secure their 12th against championship point, keeping 7Sea alive. The dream was short-lived though as Marcos secured the map 16-12 to win the championship. Zerocool ended the final map on top of the scoreboard with 27 kills with DEFAULTER ending with 21 kills.

It was DEFAULTER who was on top of the scoreboard after the series for Marcos with 70 kills across three maps.
