Firedup takes down VROverpowered

Firedup Esports took down VROverpowered in the finals of the Dust2 India - 1XBet Cup as they secured the INR 41,000 prize money.

Played on the FACEIT India server, the Dust2 India - 1XBet Cup was the first tournament hosted by us, as part of our goal to involve the community more with the game.

With 1XBet as our Title Sponsor and The Esports Club as Broadcast Partner, the eight-team event was streamed on our Twitch channel.

Round 1:

Firedup Esports vs AVT Esports -
Fired up 16 - AVT 6 (Inferno)

Firedup Esports took on AVT Esports in the first match of the tournament, with the action taking place on Inferno.

It was a dominant first half from Firedup who ended the half with a 10-5 lead and then conceded only 1 round to wrap up the game 16-6. It was L0ngBarrel and ReApErMonsta on top of the scoreboard with 24 and 23 kills each.

SKOL vs Revenge Esports -
SKOL 16 - Revenge 5 (Overpass)

SKOL kicked off their campaign against Revenge 5 on Overpass. Playing on Overpass it was a stellar opening half from SKOL, who were 11-4 up and didn't waste much time after that to close the game at 16-5. -PRAD-, Tak11za and NaMBaRDaR all ended the game with over 20 kills each.

VROverpowered vs WSF
VROverpowered 16 - WSF 11 (Inferno)

VROverpowered face WSF on Inferno and it was a back and forth game that saw WSF end the first half with a slight edge at 8-7. VRO bounced back in the second half as Owned07 and Aeju made sure VRO turned it around, taking the map 16-11/

Round 2 -

SKOL vs Firedup Esports
Map - Overpass

SKOL took the opening pistol starting on the CT side and held off Firedup's force buy with a double from TheOldS1nner and -PRAD-. ChAmPcs' 1v2 gave Firedup their first round and went on a three round streak before a triple from G4tt brought SKOL back on board to tie the game up at 3-3. RobbeN-'s double against an eco saw Firedup secure 5 on their T side and entries from -LuciA and L0ngBarrel helped Firedup win out the half in round 11 at 8-3. It was another multi-kill round from G4tt that helped SKOL put up their fourth and it was a NaMBaRDaR clutch that helped SKOL end the first half at 5-10.

A brawl on the A site with a ReApErMonsta triple gave Fired up the second pistol as well. -LuciA- with the XM4 from B short helped Firedup secure 13 and a quad from -LuciA- put Firedup on match point. Firedup closed out the series at 16-9 as Firedup ended the match with nothing but upgraded pistols.

-LuciA- and ChAmPcs ended the game with 24 kills, topping the scoreboard from Firedup Esports.

The final was played between Firedup Esports and VROverpowered with the match taking place on Inferno. VROverpowered kicked things off on the T side and a h4acky1 double saw the T side pick up the opening round and a triple from Owned07 saw VRO go 2-0 up before both sides had guns out. L0ngBarrel's triple saw Firedup put up their first round and a strong Banana hold from ChAmPcs and L0ngBarrel tied the game up at 2-2. Firedup's superior map control saw them put up seven in a row before VRO put up their first gun round. RobbeN-- and L0ngBarrel's double helped Firedup secure eight on the CT half to win out the half and the CTs ended the first half with a 11-4 lead as ReApErMonsta and RobbeN-- clutching out a 2v3 to end the half.

VRO took a much needed pistol to start the second half as killeronway and sharkaim came in with an impactful round and Aeju's triple on ramp saw VRO put up back-to-back rounds for the first time since the opening two rounds of the game. A team ace saw VRO put up four in a row and a h4acky1's triple saw the map being brought down to a two-round game.

sharkaim denied RobbeN-- a 1v3 which put VRO on 10 . -LuciA-'s arch wrap helped Firedup put up their first T round but it was VRO who answered with three of their own to take the lead at 13-12. ChAmPcs and -LuciA-'s double helped Firedup tie the game at 14-14 and it was Firedup who secured championship point first thanks to a B hit. Firedup Esports eventually made sure VRO couldn't take the game to OT as they ended it in regulation at 16-14.
