Ninjas dig deep to take down EG
The Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) took down Evil Geniuses (EG) in a grueling encounter that saw NiP come out on top and now will face Complexity.
The opening map was Evil Geniuses' (EG) pick of Inferno with NiP starting on the CT side. NiP picked up the pistol and went on to take an early 4-0 lead with headtr1ck coming in with impactful rounds to start the series. A HexT double on a B hit saw EG pick up their first T round. Brollan NiP back on the board for their fifth but EG responded with three of their own. A Brollan triple and headtr1ck double saw NiP secure six but it was EG who won out the half with a 8-7 lead.
EG picked up the second pistol and jeorge's 1v1 against Brollan saw EG secure 10. NiP's first T round came thanks to a k0nfig double but autimatic's triple including a 1v1 against headtr1ck put EG on 12. NiP's 9th came off the back of a mixed buy. hampus and REZ gave NiP their 11th turning around a 2v5. junior denied headtr1ck a 1v3 which put EG on map point. headtr1ck made sure the game went all the rounds as the youngster from NiP came in with a crucial 1v3 and the economy damage done by hampus and his men made sure the final round was low buy from EG which saw NiP take the map to OT.
headtr1ck's triple on banana gave NiP the first in OT but EG bounced back to end the first half of OT 1 wit ha 17-16 lead.
autimatic's double helped EG secure map point once again but NiP once again hung on to take the match to OT 2. HexT's triple gave EG the first round in OT 2 but once again it was REZ and hampus who turned around yet another man disadvantage, 2v4 this time to tied the game at 19-19. NiP ended second OT with a 20-19 lead.
NiP finally closed out the map at 22-20 with headtr1ck ending the map with 43 kills.

Next up was NiP's pick of Vertigo with EG starting on the CT side and junior won a 1v1 against REZ to give EG the first pistol. EG built an early 6-0 lead. NiP's first round came thanks to upgraded pistols and a quad kill from headtr1ck which was part of a 1v4 on the A site, post plant saw NiP put up two in a row. NiP made it six in a row as they tied the game at 6-6 and ended the half with a 9-6 lead thanks to a REZ 1v2.
NiP picked up the second pistol to put up 10 but EG responded with a force buy and then went on a four round streak to take the lead at 11-10. headtr1ck's 1v1 against junior saw NiP tie the game again at 11-11. A hampus triple put NiP on series point at 15-11 and NiP closed the map at 16-11 with Brollan coming in with a triple kill.
It was a team performance on Vertigo with the entire squad being within 4 kills of each other as hampus topped the scoreboard with 21 kills.
