"We took it one round at a time" - SpawN
Revenant Esports put up their first win in Skyesports Masters against Medal Esports who are yet to find winning ways, 6 matches into the tournament. After a close 3-map series, we got a chance to talk to SpawN from Revenant Esports and here's what he had to say.
Another comeback on Inferno, can you talk us through that?
"We weren't expecting them to pick Inferno, Inferno is our map. We knew they had some strats or anti-strats for us or maybe some good executes. All of us are mentally strong and can reset from anything. We spoke to each other and took it one round at a time, that's it. Everyone respected the mid round calls and we closed it out."
One Glock round and they ran away with Nuke, what happened there?
"That was frustrating, we knew they would come A but we expected them to come Hut and gump was playing anti-flash. gump pulled out a smoke and they just opened the door and ran at us. We talked and tried to reset, but their defaults were great, no over-peeks and great team effort overall."
You recovered from 0-6 to close out Overpass, can you talk about that?
"Overpass is a very strategic map, we were expecting them to play very aggressive on the T-side but they were very passive. When they got a lot of rounds they tried to rush B back to back and were shut down. They went back to their defaults but now we were ready. We missed out on multi-kills. We were prepared on T-side, I told my team that 6 rounds on CT was all we needed. We were confident on T-side because we had prepared our Overpass T-side really well."
