"We went to two overtimes because of our own mistakes" - rev3nnnn
Reckoning Esports conceded Anubis and Overpass in a hard fought encounter against Gods Reign, with Overpass even going as far as two overtimes. After the match we got a chance to talk to rev3nnnn, Gods Reign's stellar AWP and the #1 ranked player in FACEIT for the Indian region. Here's what he had to say about the match.
Incredibly close map, you guys came back and equalized the score multiple times but fell short at the very end, what happened towards the end?
"Inferno is our strong map, we've been practicing Inferno since we arrived at the boot camp. We did a few individual mistakes even after we discussed about it. We need to play more as a team and increase our chemistry. We just need to practice more."
You recovered from a 1-7 start, came back from a 14-12 disadvantage and closed it out, can you talk us through Anubis?
"We thought they'd pick Vertigo but Anubis was a surprise pick. We have practiced Anubis, we've played scrims, so we knew the basics. After winning one force-buy round we got confidence and started taking a slower approach and waited for their mistakes, which they did. We were calm and composed and with good communication, we closed out the map eventually."
Went neck to neck on Overpass but just closed it out in double OT, can you talk us through Overpass?
"Overpass is one of our more practiced maps alongside Inferno, we have played a lot of scrims and have practiced a lot of defaults. We were doing a lot of individual mistakes and we need to fix that. We have be more clear and composed, especially on Overpass. If we reduce our individual and silly mistakes, I feel we can win against any team on Overpass with 16-6 or 16-10 score lines. We went to two overtimes because of our own mistakes, without these mistakes, we could've won easily."
