Counter-Strike 2 receives new map
Italy replaces Ancient and Anubis in the Counter-Strike 2 limited test but is available to play in only casual and deathmatch mode. Italy, like Ancient, Anubis and Overpass is a completely overhauled map, built from scratch in the source 2 engine. From the beginning, Italy was more inclined towards casual gameplay and Valve intends to keep it that way, by disabling Competitive mode to Italy.
The difference between CS:GO's Italy and CS2's Italy is day and night- the colors are more vibrant, the lighting looks breathtaking and two new hallways have been added, brining gameplay changes to the map. Italy is the first hostage map to make it's appearance in the Counter-Strike 2 limited test.
Alongside the map swap, smokes have been reworked, modifying the smoke cloud shape to to imitate CS:GO's smokes more closely. The smokes now have been reduced in width and slightly increased in height. Sticker sizes on the M4A4 in CS2 have been adjusted to avoid overlap and the stattrack indicators position have been moved so as to not interfere with stickers.
