VERTEX emerges victors in the Oceania Closed Qualifiers after a 2-1 victory against LFO

Starting on LFO's map pick of Inferno, VERTEX struggled at the start of their CT campaign, as LFO flew to a 5-0 start. Though VERTEX managed to halt their momentum in the sixth round and snag their first point, LFO quickly rebounded, grabbing 2 more rounds to secure a 7-1 lead. As the latter part of the first half unfolded, pz's AWP kicked in, netting VERTEX crucial multi-kills that helped them end the first half with a decent 6-9 score.

Still a tall order ahead of them, VERTEX stumbled in the first two rounds, allowing LFO to stretch their lead to 11-6. However, thanks to impressive plays from ADDICT and pz, VERTEX fought back, winning 3 hard-earned rounds during full buying phases. Both teams gave it their all, bringing the score close at 10-12. Just on the cusp of narrowing the gap further, as they faced opponents wielding USP-s, VERTEX faltered, dealing a significant blow to their chances. This slip had a big impact, dimming VERTEX's hopes as LFO eventually closed out the map with a 16-12 victory.

1.35 rating on Inferno from pz wasn't enough to push VERTEX over the line

Vertigo started as a much tighter contest compared to Inferno. Beginning on the CT side, LFO established a streak of 4 consecutive round victories, which were promptly countered by a resilient 4-round resurgence from VERTEX. The momentum shifted back and forth throughout the half, with VERTEX ultimately securing a slight advantage by capturing 4 of the last 5 rounds, culminating in an 8-7 halftime score.

Transitioning to the T-side, LFO seized early momentum with 4 consecutive round wins, propelling them to an 11-8 lead over VERTEX. However, their buy-round victory was followed by a stumble in the semi-eco, as ADDICT's impressive 3K performance secured VERTEX's first CT round. VERTEX capitalized on the gained momentum and strung together a commendable streak of 6 rounds. While LFO fought back by claiming a couple of rounds, VERTEX held onto the game by claiming their pick 16-13 and pushing the series to the third map.

The third map took us to Nuke, where VERTEX started their T campaign on the right foot by claiming the first two rounds. However, in the third round, Liki made the saved Galil sing as his 3k propelled his team to an early start to their CT side. VERTEX didn't let the setback put the brakes on their T-side, as they dominated their way through a stranglehold of 13-2 at halftime.

LFO set things in motion on their T-side by claiming the first three rounds of their T-side. A 1v2 from Sterling on the first buy round prolonged their momentum as LFO surged to an 8-14 score. While LFO fought valiantly, the slim margin gave them little room to breathe. Ultimately, VERTEX emerged as the victors, sealing the deal with a convincing 16-10 scoreline.
