FURIA survive after a 2-0 triumph against NIP
FURIA 's aggressive push towards Mid at the start of the CT side on Mirage proved to be their downfall, catching NIP well-prepared and handing them an early 2-man advantage during the pistol round. This advantage translated into a pistol round victory, extending FURIA 's lead to a 3-0 start. Despite conceding control of Mid entirely during the first buy round, FURIA positioned themselves to effectively counter the attack, allowing them to surge to a 6-4 lead. However, NIP found a way to disrupt FURIA's momentum with consecutive fast A site assaults, concluding the half with a commendable 8 rounds on the T-side.
In the second half, FURIA opted for a swift A site execution, securing them the pistol round. It was yuurih who shone with 2 critical kills in a challenging 2v4 situation during the first buy round, prompting NIP to save and extending FURIA's lead to 11-8. NIP managed to disrupt FURIA's momentum for the first time in the second half during the 21st round, thanks to headtr1ck's AWP finding 3 crucial kills. This effort narrowed the gap to 12-11 in favor of the Brazilians. However, taking inspiration from NIP, FURIA executed a well-coordinated A site rush, swiftly turning the tides in their favor. This allowed them to regain their momentum and sail to a solid 16-12 victory.
The casters had their doubts about FURIA picking Nuke. However, once the dust settled after NIP won their first two CT round, FURIA's preparation on the map became apparent. The Brazilians put on a show as they cleanly secured 7 out of the next 8 rounds. With everyone except arT pulling their weight, FURIA went on to post 8 rounds on the T-side, as a couple of 1v2s from Hampus and Brollan at the end ensured a competitive half.
NIP won the first three rounds to kickstart their offensive as they overtook FURIA 10-8, it became anyone's game to win. However, once FURIA got rolling on the back of FalleN's AWP, they became unstoppable. Racking up clean rounds one after another, they surged to a 13-10 score. It took a heroic 1v2 from k0nfig to break their streak, but it was to no avail as FURIA found their footing right after, and went on to clinch Nuke 16-12.
