BlameF stars in win over GamerLegion
The Danish squad's bounce back from the surprising NIP loss continues as they take down the neaLaN-led GamerLegion in the lower bracket of Group A at ESL Pro League Season 18.
The series started of Astralis' pick of Vertigo and right off the bat, the Danes were dominant, picking up 11 CT sided rounds in the first half as blameF went nuclear. GL did find their footing in the second half, keeping Astralis' economy on the backfoot early, but once the full gun round came out, device and co. easily closed out the map 16-12.
Moving over to the European mix's choice, Inferno, things didn't look much different at the onset. Astralis once more started on the CT side and the individuals kept rolling as they stomped out the GL attack round after round. A single gun round went the way of ash's squad as Astralis closed the half out 14-1.
Just a couple of rounds left to secure as the Danes now moved onto their attack. The pistol round immediately started with a blameF headshot onto neaLaN as Astralis burst into the B site to take 15 despite acoR's triple. Round 17 gave GL a chance to catch their breath as volt won out a 1v3 with a defuse to give GL their second. One round at a time was all neaLaN could say to his boys as they shut down Astralis' force buy and gave themselves a chance to work on the CT side. Round 19 was another full buy, with device cracking acoR's skull all the way across mid with an AK, but that wasn't enough as isak mowed down 4 from pit.
Round after round GL were keeping themselves in the game, with 22 seeing a double apps setup from volt and isak paying dividends. But still fighting for 14 flawless rounds is nearly impossible and GL eventually fell in round 24 as Astralis secured the match 2:0.
