GamerLegion eliminate NIP in Malta
Kicking things off on the T-side their map pick of Ancient, the Ninjas got to a blistering hot start as they built up a 6-1 lead. While a 1v1 ninja defuse from isak propelled GamerLegion to a second, the onslaught by the Ninjas continued as they extended their lead to 10-2. Playing as a unit, they cleverly switched between the sites they attacked, to not allow the CT to settle. Not only was Hampus calling a great game, but he was also leading from the front in the fragging department. He ended the half with 17 kills while GamerLegion found a late recovery in the half, taking the final three to post 5 rounds on their CT side.
In the uphill battle on their T side now, GamerLegion never found their footing. The Ninjas won the pistol, with Rez posing a stalwart defense on the A site, claiming three heads before going down. The Ninjas then went on to win the first buy round, edging closer to victory as the score turned 13-5. While GamerLegion were able to put up their first T-round with the help of hand cannons, NIP crushed them in the following rounds, claiming the map 16-6.
The start of the second map, Overpass, revealed a GamerLegion team that appeared more composed and determined. They kicked off the match by securing the first two rounds but soon found themselves trailing at 4-2 However, they found the breakthrough by bursting onto the B site with tec-9s. The remainder of the half saw them exploit the defenses of the B bomb site, as they claimed 9 rounds at the end of the first half. volt did most of the work in the half, as he sat on top of the scoreboard boasting 15 kills.
Winning the pistol round in the second half propelled NIP to find the equalizer. But once the full buy rounds came into play, it was GamerLegion who dominated. With isak stepping up once again with multi-kills, GamerLegion found a 14-10 lead. Refusing to give up, k0nfig found a couple of entries with his deagle on the B bombsite during the mid-round to put NIP back to winning ways. NIP put up a struggle to tie the score, as the game came down to the wire at 14-14. But they fell short in the endgame, as isak and Keoz found 2k a piece to take the game to the third map.
The victory on Overpass marked a turning point in the game, and GamerLegion stormed onto Inferno's T-side with unwavering determination. Volt emerged as a force to be reckoned with, single-handedly dismantling the opposing defenses, allowing GamerLegion to establish an impressive 7-1 lead. However, their momentum dwindled soon thereafter, as headtr1ck, armed with his AWP, sprang into action, offering staunch resistance to GamerLegion's offensive maneuvers. The Ninjas embarked on a 7-round spree, to take the 8-7 lead going into the second half.
Once on the CT side, GamerLegion became unstoppable. The brick wall defense became impenetrable for the Ninjas to breach. They emphasized Banana control as it allowed them to find a commanding lead of 12-8 lead. NIP found the breakthrough on the 21st round when GamerLegion handed them two openers charging down mid. However, failing to capitalize on the won round resulted in a 16-10 loss in the map and a 2-1 loss in the series.
