FACEIT begins testing CS2

FACEIT has initiated a 3-phase process to test CS2 integration

FACEIT has announced access to its CS2 servers, initiating a 3-phase test, limited to players holding levels 9 and 10 with an experience of 1000+ matches. Players who do not not meet these requirements will get access to FACEIT's CS2 matchmaking and servers in the 2nd phase of the test. FACEIT has also mentioned that those invited will also get to test the integration flow for FACEIT anti-cheat in the new CS2 servers.

Additionally FACEIT announced the arrival of a new ranking element - "Challenger" rank. This Challenger rank will be exclusive to every region's top 1,000 players. FACEIT describes Challenger rank as a new and exciting goal to grind towards after reaching the coveted level 10 rank on FACEIT and shall act as a symbol of distinction and showcase one's exact standings in the CS2 scene.

"The original skill levels and their Elo ranges were established in 2014, and while they made sense at that time, the growth of our player base has led to inconsistencies in the distribution across skill levels. We will be making needed Elo and Skill Level adjustments that are yet to be fully revealed in Part 2 of our release."

For the time being, players invited to FACEIT's limited test are required to connect to their match servers by pasting the server address provided by FACEIT, in their in-game console. The 2nd phase of the test is set to introduce significant updates to FACEIT's ranking system and matchmaking will be out when Counter-Strike 2 is fully released and out of limited test.
