CS2’s VAC issue workaround

The issue works it’s way to the forefront after Valve’s latest Counter-Strike 2 update

The ongoing VAC issue entails an annoying dialogue box that pops up when the player starts matchmaking, reading - “VAC was unable to verify your game session”.

The issue has been around for quite a while and these are some of the steps the community followed to work their way around the VAC error -

  1. Restarting Counter-Strike

  2. Restarting Steam (closing Steam from task manager and opening it again)

  3. Verifying the integrity of Game files

  4. Swapping between online and offline mode in Steam

  5. Restarting PC when none of the above works

The latest Counter-Strike 2 update removed several legacy networking convars that existed in CS:GO but according to valve - never had an effect in CS2 and the community speculates that this could have amplified the already existing VAC error within the limited test build of Counter-Strike 2.
