Fire5 Esports blown away by KingPins

KingPins storm into the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2 final

The second semifinal of the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2 saw KingPins take on Fire5 Esports (F5), with both teams hoping to book a spot in the Grand Finals against L.O.T Gaming.

The opening map of the second semifinal was KingPins' pick of Ancient with F5 starting on the CT side. F5 kicked things off by taking the pistol but KingPins answered back with the force buy rush to the A site. hattygOD's 1v1 against Do1nk in a quad kill with the MP9 saw KingPins see off a force buy from F5. KingPins made it eight straight in a row after losing the pistol to win out the half at 8-1 as hattygOD was opening up each bombsite with relative ease. It was one of the most lop-sided halves of the tournaments as KingPins ended the half with a 13-2 lead and it was hattygOD with 23 kills just in the opening half.

The second map was F5's pick of Mirage with Bhavi and co. starting on the CT side. ELV1S and BENZENE helped KingPins turn around a 3v4 to win the opening pistol and BENZENE came in with a triple from Ticket Booth against the eco to maintain KingPins' clean start. hattygOD's 1v2 on the B site saw F5 drop another 3v4 as the CT's kept their lead intact. It was hattygOD on the AWP this time shutting down F5 and along with BENZENE's aggressive entries, KingPins started with a 7-0 lead before AJAY opened by the B site to see F5 get their first round. hattygOD replied with a triple AWP from Connector which saw KingPins win out the half. A hattygOD and R2B2 full house on the B hold saw KingPins secure double digits. It was another B opener from AJAY that saw F5 take their second round but it was another dominating first half from KingPins with a 13-2 lead.

RaMbO's double opener in Connector saw F5 take the second pistol and an A10N3BOY 1v2 saw F5 fend off a force buy from KingPins. KingPins' A hit as soon as they brought out the guns saw them secure their 14th round and a B split saw KingPins secure map, match and series point. KingPins booked the spot in the grand finals after securing Mirage 16-4 with BENZENE and hattygOD on top of the scoreboard with 23 and 22 kills each.
