Marcos Gaming triumphs Reckoning Esports

After a hard-fought battle, Marcos Gaming emerged victorious with a 2-1 score against Reckoning Esports

The second day of the Skyesports Souvenir started off with a matchup between Marcos Gaming and Reckoning Esports. After getting handed a loss against Revenant Esports yesterday, Marcos Gaming switched Gh0sTTTT with cara. The BO3 began with Inferno and Nuke, leaving Mirage as the decider.

A pivotal 3K from DEFAULTER gave MG an early start, as they were able to pull out an unlikely 3v4 retake out of the hat. After another round going the side of MG, the tables turned once the buy rounds unfolded. With catastrr0phe carrying the load of an entry fragger, RKE were able to overtake MG to lead 3-2. However, it was Rossi on the side of MG, who found multiple kills to bring MG back to winning ways, as they strung together 5 in a row to take the score to 7-3. Despite a struggle put up by RKE, as they belted a couple of rounds more, MG secured the final 3 to post a halftime score of 10-5.

Another pistol round win at the start of the second half gave MG a huge headstart, as they found a commanding lead of 13-5. Despite a slip-up in round 19, where the CTs were able to take Banana control and managed to win their first round, the rest of the T-side was smooth sailing for MG. without conceding a single round after that round, MG cruised to a 16-6 victory. Rossi's 1.37 rating with a K/D of 21/15 and a 102 AdR earned him the MVP for the first map.

The two teams moved to Nuke, with Marcos Gaming starting on the T side while RKE took on the defensive side. A swift 9 kills in the opening 4 rounds from cara gave MG an early 4-0 start. RKE found their footing on the CT side, sequencing 6 rounds of wins. The momentum shifted once again, as a fast-paced outside rush with pistols gave MG their way back to the game, as they secured two more rounds. But a late recovery from RKE gave them a much-needed lead of 9-6 going into the second half.

Unfortunately for MG, their CT side struggled to gain momentum. Following the loss of the pistol round and subsequent follow-up rounds, they found themselves trailing by a considerable 12-6 deficit. Although they did manage to secure their first round on the initial buy round, a narrow miss in a 1v4 attempt by Mcg1LLzZz and Cara's unfortunate disconnection in the 21st round prevented MG from building any substantial momentum. Despite putting up a valiant effort in the closing stages of the map, they ultimately fell short, resulting in a 16-9 loss.

As the BO3 shifted to Mirage, MG exhibited a much stronger sense of control. Despite losing the pistol round, leading to RKE chaining together three consecutive rounds, MG swiftly regained their footing in the game. With Mcg1LLzZz leading the way in the fragging department, they managed to secure eight consecutive rounds. Although RKE retaliated towards the end of the half, they still found themselves trailing by a score of 9-6 as the half came to a close.

The significance of Lucia's clutch in the 1v2 situation cannot be adequately described in words, although it somewhat lost its impact as MG triumphed in the force buy round. This propelled them to a commanding 14-7 lead, with Mcg1LLzZz performing exceptionally well. RKE was attempting to regain their momentum, securing two rounds in response. However, their defeat against MG, who were armed with 4 Tec-9s and an AK in the 24th round, ultimately sealed the victory for MG, concluding the match with a decisive 16-9 scoreline.
