MOUZ thrash FaZe to book a spot in the Quarter-Finals

MOUZ set to take on G2 on Friday

The much-anticipated playoff between FaZe and MOUZ kicked off on MOUZ's pick of Mirage with them starting on the T-side. They started off the game in prime fashion, as an ace from frozen helped them take the pistol round under their belt. After converting the second round, it was Jimpphat who took charge in the first buy round, with his 3k propelling them to a 3-0 start. However, FaZe found their footing early in the buy rounds, as they replied back with 3 of their own to level the score. The half continued to be back and forth, as each duel held a lot of significance in deciding the winner of the round. However, a 1.56 rating from xertioN in the first half tilted it in MOUZ's favor, as they found an 8-7 lead.

As the second half unfurled, MOUZ began to assert their dominance. Their CT side found stability, as despite losing the pistol, they managed to shut down FaZe in the second round. Displaying excellent chemistry, and some out-of-the-world fragging from xertioN and siuhy, MOUZ managed to find match point at 15-9, losing only one round after the pistol. With the highest rating on the side of FaZe being 1.00 from broky, it was evident none of FaZe's star players were able to rise to the occasion. As a result, MOUZ converted their map pick to a 16-10 victory.

The second map took us to Inferno, which has served as a haven of safety for this iteration of FaZe. Despite looking strong as they started off with a 3-0 start, things crumbled once the buy rounds unpacked. MOUZ played a fine game, laying out bait-and-switch setups to perfection. Losing a couple of rounds affected a momentum-based team like FaZe tremendously, as they struggled to find openings throughout the half. On the other side, Jimpphat was fragging on all cylinders, rising to 17 kills at the end of halftime, allowing MOUZ to claw back the half to a 10-5 lead.

Adding salt to the wounds of FaZe, siuhy found a double opener on the B-site, as MOUZ converted the second pistol to extend their lead further. FaZe's force buy rounds and then their first buy round falling to bits allowed MOUZ to reach a score of 14-5, in touching distance of match and series points. Nothing went the way of FaZe, as after another round of eco, frozen found a couple of entries through the smoke, and with broky not able to clutch the 1v2, MOUZ clinched the map with a convincing 16-5 score.
