Cloud9 book a spot in the final of Fall Showdown over G2
The second semi-final of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2023 Europe saw a clash between Cloud9 and G2. Kicking off the proceedings on Cloud9 's pick of Anubis, G2 launched with a strong showing on their T side. While Cloud9 hung on through some clutch defuses, G2 still managed to amass 9 rounds during the initial half. Regrettably for the international squad, their performance waned significantly on the CT as Cloud9 went on a flawless 10-round spree to claim the first map 16-9.

Next up was G2's pick of Inferno, where once again they dominated on the T side. Despite losing the pistol round, jks and NiKo led the charge to secure 10 rounds in the first half, earning themselves a T rating of 1.32 and 1.26 respectively. Cloud9 started off in a similar fashion, bagging 6 of the first 7 rounds on their T side, but G2 regained their footing towards the end to take their map pick by a 16-13 margin. huNter-, whose lack of presence was felt on the CT side of Anubis where he failed to secure a single frag, redeemed himself with an impressive 1.45 CT rating on Inferno.

The BO3 continued on Ancient, where G2 started on the right foot by converting the first three rounds on their T-side. However, once the buy rounds kicked in, Cloud9 only conceded two more rounds to culminate the half with a 10-5 lead. Things went from bad to worse for G2 as they lost the second pistol round, giving Cloud9 an 11-5 lead. While a 2hp 1v2 Ninja defuse on the force buy round from HooXi gave G2 a lifeline, the T-side of C9 stood strong as they emerged victorious with a 16-9 score.
