Watch Out: This setting can get you VAC Banned!
Valve have released a tweet warning AMD customers against enabling Anti-Lag. Anti-Lag is a AMD Graphics Card setting that injects code to make the game feel more responsive by applying frame alignment within the game code.
Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) detects code injections in order to prevent users from using cheats and ruining the competitive integrity of the game. Thus when AMD enabled Anti-Lag for CS2, VAC banned many users for using it in competitive games.
AMD's latest driver has made their "Anti-Lag/+" feature available for CS2, which is implemented by bypassing engine DLL functions.
If you are an AMD customer playing CS2, DO NOT ENABLE ANTI-LAG/+; any tampering with CS code will result in a VAC ban.
When AMD sends an update, we can identify affected users and unban them.
Due to the nature of the issue, Valve is reliant on AMD to provide a driver update and fix the issue with Anti-Lag. The game developer however stated that they will be working on identifying and reversing bans from affected user accounts once AMD ships the update.
In the meanwhile, AMD users should make sure to keep Anti-Lag turned off in order to prevent any false VAN Bans. As with any new game, some bugs and issues are bound to crop up, but with Valve's unusually high activity, they are sure to squash any bugs as they crop up.
In the AMD Radeon Software, under the Gaming Tab, make sure Anti-Lag is set to disabled on the left side.
